A little about my story

Hello, my name is Dasha Denger. I am the Producer, Owner and Photographer of White Moth Studio right here in Seattle, WA.

I got my start in photography back in 2009 when I launched my boutique family & senior portrait photography business, which over the years evolved into fashion and editorial work. I spent much of my career in the Midwest (Chicago baby!) creating editorial stories until recently moving to Seattle in 2023 and starting White Moth Studio.

Launching White Moth made me discover my new path: editorial portraits for families and mama's to be, catering to the modern, style-conscious Seattle families

who want photographs that feel real, intimate, and intentional.

With my background in fashion and editorial photography, I bring the same creative direction, styling, and intentional storytelling to family photography. I believe it's possible to capture real families in a way that is honest, personal, and artfully composed — photography that reflects your family’s unique style while feeling elevated and timeless.

I feel incredibly proud and grateful to make my life's passion my day job and to work with such incredible people who trust me to tell their stories!

Cheers,

Dasha

My Editorial Past

a decade of fashion photography

Dasha Denger Photography

For over a decade I photographed editorial fashion, beauty and model portfolios in Chicago, IL. Intricately telling stories and igniting inspiration through creative lighting and set design.

I partnered with agencies, models, makeup & hair artists, wardrobe stylists and other creatives on creating editorial spreads that spoke without words.

Today I take what I have learned on set of fashion production and I apply it to my family photography work, — creating visual narratives that focus on your family bond as the art.

the _editorial magazine

The Editorial Design

In 2017 I launched my own fashion magazine called The_EDITORIAL. I was the sole creator, editor, designer and publisher of this independent fashion publication. For 5 years I ran and operated this publication featuring fashion photography stories from all over the world with 11 quarterly print issues & countless webitorial stories featured exclusively online.

So how does it all work?

My Process

STEP 01

Book

Booking your session is easy, simply go to our Calendar and select your preferred date and time for your chosen session! We will be in touch within 24 hours to confirm your session. Upon booking a $250 non-refundable booking deposit is due. Your booking will also include your contract, model release form and a quick questionnaire so we can get to know each other!

STEP 02

Planning

As an added bonus to working with a fashion photographer, you will also be able to take advantage of an optional planning session to talk about our creative direction for the session. I will create a mood board for you to plan out your outfits, poses and makeup and hair! I try to keep the movement flowing so I will always send inspirational images to gently guide you to poses and angles I would love to capture!

STEP 03

Session Time

We will meet at the studio and dive into our session by first reviewing your outfits, looking through our creative direction and letting everyone know to be themselves during the session! The photography time can take anywhere between 1 to 3 hours depending on your chosen session. (For Seniors please account for an additional 45 minutes of makeup application)

Our time together will be full of joy, laughter and fashion-forward attitude! No one session is the same so be prepared to be yourself.

STEP 04

Delivering photos

I will go through our session and curate a fully custom gallery featuring your best images! Once you’ve reviewed your images, we will schedule our wall art selection session and together we will create your custom heirloom keepsakes in person in your home so you can see your images come to life on your walls!

STEP 05

Heirloom Order

& Wrap Up

1-2 weeks after you have seen your final image gallery, I will schedule a Wrap Up call to talk about your experience, collect feedback and perhaps even plan for our next session!

Your custom Editorial Heirloom Keepsake order will arrive directly to your door within weeks fully matted and framed — ready for placement in your home!

My Approach

My process is calm, guided, and intentional

I create space for you to slow down and simply be with your loved ones.

Each session begins with thoughtful planning — our first connection, discussing your needs, picking out your perfect wardrobe, and setting the mood for our ideal session.

On session day, I guide gently, using an editorial eye to shape the frame while allowing authentic moments to unfold naturally.

The result is imagery that feels cinematic and emotive, yet effortless.

Photographs that honor your family with the same care and artistry as a magazine portrait — but rooted in truth and tenderness.

A little about You

You’re drawn to connections and images that make you feel

You appreciate beauty and you value meaningful interactions even more.

You don’t want stiff, traditional portraits where everyone is forced to smile. Rather, you want photos where everyone looks real, honest and genuine.

You’re sentimental and stylish in equal measure. You notice color, texture, and tone and think style matters as much as connection.

You want to preserve your family’s story through images that feel like home, images that feel deeply personal and emotional.

You value authenticity over perfection, and you want to see your family reflected in a way that feels unmistakably you. You want a real experience that delivers quality and one-of-a-kind heirlooms that no one else has.

Annie has been with the company the longest. She has provided 5 long & dedicated years of her youth, 20s and now early 30's to our family run business and quite quickly became the company's most trustworthy, dependable, and logical asset.

From keeping her laser pointed eye on the newest social media trends to helping in our advertising department, Annie is irreplaceable and integral to our daily business operations. Her impeccable taste in visual representation paired with a focused attention to the latest advertising direction has helped shape who we are today.

Thank you, from all of us at WMS, for your years of devoted service.

A gray tabby cat with yellow-green eyes sits on an orange cushioned chair, looking directly at the camera.

We hired Blue alongside of Orca in early 2025, they come as a bonded brotherly pair, and we were able to onboard them from their part-time job as foster kittens in Kirkland to take on responsibilities as our full-time core team.

Blue started as the head of the Marketing, and we immediately saw him flourish into the professional you see here today. His leadership qualities really shined during his training, and we quickly realized he will be fundamental to our Curly Whisker Department.

Blue quickly rose to his director's position, showcasing his many talents in leading our team. We are so grateful to his dedication and leadership, thank you for always leading us in the right direction.

Orca

Quality Control + Formal Wear

Orca's specialty lies in being the most dapper gentle-boy. He integrated into the company alongside his brother, Blue in early 2025.

Orca immediately became an essential part of the team. He is always ready to overlook a formal gala or take charge of a back yard BBQ. Being the supervisor, he has shown us what a quick study he is in leading the styling department to new heights and we couldn't be more pleased with his artistic style and direction.

What we truly admire about working with Orca, in our day-to-day business operations, is that no matter what the day brings we can always be sure he will rise to the occasion and be available for a 1-on-1 papoose session during business hours. An indispensable member of our internal team, truly an honor to have his creative direction & leadership at our side.

why do I photograph families?

Because family stories deserve to be documented with authenticity and style.

I do what I do to preserve your raw moments in a form that feels meaningful, intentional, and timeless. Every little pout, an ecstatic run around the studio, a whimsical dance-a-prance before we shoot, those are the moments worth remembering.
